Banana, Date & Lime Protein Smoothies

Come Monday morning, my body is yearning for something healthy. It's not that I just stop eating vegetables at 5 pm on Friday but fun weekend snacks and cocktails have taken their toll by Sunday night. If I was making breakfast for just me, I'm perfectly happy slurping down a greener than green juice that tastes just like its hue. I do like to make sure the beau is getting his morning nourishment as well, and luckily he's down with spinach in smoothies. Our usual morning drink is a simple combination of spinach, strawberries, banana, cucumber, almond milk and rice protein. Sometimes a little shake up is necessary though and I have been itching to try an at home version of Taim's banana date and lime smoothie from my June trip to NYC. I wanted it to have a little staying power and that's where the protein powder came in.

Banana Date & Lime Protein Smoothie

Banana, Date & Lime Protein Smoothies (for 2)

2 ripe bananas
8 small dates or 4 large ones
juice from 1.5 limes
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 scoop protein powder of your choice (we use vanilla Sunwarrior)
6 ice cubes
 
Banana, Date & Lime Protein Smoothie

Drop/pour everything into your blender and blend until smooth. Pour into two glasses and enjoy!
