Self Care Should Be Routine, Especially When Made Easy

One of my intentions for 2016 is to dedicate more time and resources to my own self care. Sunday nights are dedicated to at home facials, I'm rolling out my yoga mat more and focusing on getting more shut eye. I'm treating myself more to things like dance classes, my favorite kombucha and inspirational books. There was no way I was going to turn down the opportunity to experience a treatment at the Frederick, MD Massage Envy. Focusing on Self Care

It was really refreshing being able to schedule myself a massage on a weeknight. With my commute, I usually have to reserve appointments like this for the weekends. But Massage Envy is open until 10 pm during the week, making their services super accessible.

After arriving and filling out the information form, I took advantage of my short wait time and began to let myself unwind from the day. My efforts were aided by the warm atmosphere and light, soothing music. Very soon though, I was introduced to my massage therapist Jenn and led to my treatment room. Throughout my entire experience my comfort was consistently seen to and Jenn really focused on the troubled areas I pointed out on my intake form. I also really appreciated her tips for making the most of my experience post-massage. Namely to go home and soak for a bit and remember to keep myself hydrated.

I walked out of my appointment feeling like a well-kneaded mound of bread dough. Which is exactly how I want to feel after a massage. I am seriously considering signing up for their membership program after my experience. A monthly massage would be an easy addition to my schedule of self care.

*Massage Envy graciously provided my massage to me free of charge, but all thoughts & opinions are my own.*
